Research Interests

I am a doctoral student using the Language Environment Analysis System (LENA) to study how parent-child interactions influence the development of language and executive functioning over time. I am particularly interested in the language and strategies parents use to guide their children through “everyday tasks” like grooming, mealtime, and book-reading – things that can be challenging for a young child. I am interested in applying this research to practical, large-scale interventions targeting early childhood settings and parenting practices.
